Nice, small place in an outdated shopping mall. Their food is excellent and healthy. I love their butternut squash soup, so thick and tasty. The atmosphere is a bit crowded, with too many middle-aged women loudly gossiping about other women. If you can get past that, you'll enjoy the place. One thing....have your cashier not hair flip her long hair into a bun while working around food.

So far, I've only had one experience with The Allways Cafe, and I must say that it was just...alright. After reading numerous reviews on Yelp I ordered the sweet potato quesadilla, and it was ok... Just not something to swarm over. The crust was nice and crispy, but the flavor didn't surprise me. Sweet potatoes are inherently delicate and sweet, but with the added ingredients (pumpkin seeds, green onions, etc) it felt like something was off; that the combination didn't accentuate the individual ingredients to create a comprehensive whole, just mushed them all together in an overly salted, flavored quesadilla. It was too heavily spiced with oregano, and I had more bites of some sort of husk than pumpkin seeds. I was hoping that they could play off the sweet and delicate nature of the sweet potatoes, not over play them. Overall, I think the menu doesn't have enough interesting options; it just seems like basic fare for a vegetarian restaurant, and it was much too expensive for what they were offering.

For my first time here I am thrilled! I went after reading amazing the reviews. 6:30pm I'm walking up and it seems the owner is locking up, he says we are closed. Right away I'm devastated, I explain to him it's okay and I'll try some other time, he asked what I wanted so I said the raw salad- he asks if I like mangos and I said yes?? He then tells me to wait and 5 minutes later he brings me out the salad and tells me to check them out again soon. What an awesome place! Did I mention how amazingly delicious this salad is?!? Definitely no shortage on toppings either! Every bite just amazing

Many people nowadays are clammerin' for a new hip vegetarian place, and Allways Cafe certainly fills that bill. I am not one of those people. Nonetheless, Allways has won me over showing that even healthy food can be (occasionally) delicious. You order at the counter, they give you a number, you get seated, and they'll bring food straight to you. During lunch it can get crowded; my group of 3 had to stand by a bit for a table open up, but the food took 10 or so minutes to prepare so by the time it was ready we'd found seating. As for the food, this is what we got: Blackened Tofu(5/10): My least favorite of the dishes. A few pieces of sliced tofu panseared with spices, along with green beans, spinach, and a diced mango salsa. The tofu was overly salty and otherwise not flavored particularly well, and there was nothing outstanding about the other greens on the dish. Jerk Chicken Salad(8.5/10): Mixed Greens Salad topped with pieces of jerk chicken along with a mango sauce on the side. The chicken was actually diced and finely seasoned with an appropriate balance of mayo that made it creamy but not overwhelmingly so, and the mango sauce/dressing that accompanied...I could have poured that on everything. If I had any complaints I guess I would ask for a spicier chicken(but again I like my food hot), and a larger portion size Sweet Potato Quesadilla(9/10): This was delicious, and probably one of the best vegetarian dishes I've ever had. The Tortilla itself was thin but crispy, and yet still loaded with a mixture of sweet potatoes, spinach, cheese, that blended perfectly. Large portion too, and yet with every bite I was craving more. Highly Recommended. They also serve some other meat dishes as well, typically featuring chicken or fish(no red meat if i remember correctly), and I can imagine they pull those off without a hitch as well. I've heard many good things about the sandwiches and wraps, and the portobello sandwich is next on my list for the return trip. Or I may just go for the sweet potato quesadilla again...

I love it here. A fantastic option in an area that to me isn't very vegan friendly. It's always a good choice for lunch with girlfriends. I did however stop coming here for a few years as they told me when I had a newborn,6 yein a car seat that I couldn't sit at a table until after I ordered. They actually made me get up and I was upset and insulted, we walked out and hadn't been back for years just based on that rudeness. For the past fours years I have been going regularly and don't have a complaint. YesC you will have to wait for a table most likely and yes the staff isn't always the friendliest but the food is top notch. I usually get the hit kale in coconut curry. I carve this dish. A lot!!! It's amazing. It's a little soupy for some so I usually get some peanuts for a crunch on top. Yesterday I tried the raw salad. I got crushed red pepper to add a kick and I may go back today for it again! Oh so delish!!! Fresh, crunchy, perfectly dressed. Yum! I used to get the sweet potato quesadilla before I went vegan which was also super yum! I really feel you can't go wrong here. Everything is so good!!! So, so good!!! A breath of fresh air for this neighborhood for sure! They are famous for their "chocolate bombs". They are vegan but I do think they make a batch gluten free. My hubs always appreciates when I bring them home for him. I smell them and fall in love. If only they could make them vegan, I would give this place 5 stars haha *who I think was the owner, a nice gentleman in workout clothes came over to our table and brought my little girls fresh fruit bowl yesterday. So sweet!

I absolutely love this restaurant! The food is outstanding AND healthy! What an awesome combination! I look for opportunities to eat here as much as I can! My favorites are the Raw Salad and Hot Kale. Both are VERY delicious!

My very favorite ... Food is consistently good and fresh - and the staff is always nice! I am addicted to the hot kale

I drove by this place for years and was too scared to eat there. The strip mall is very outdated, and looks like it belongs in another country. My husband forced me to give it a try because of the reviews. Well, the food is outstanding. Healthy, good portions, and clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. The only downside is that the decor needs a major overhaul. The chairs are from a old banquet hall, and my ass was killing me after diner. The glass tables are gross too. Should be a natural wood. Takeout next time.

The food is tasty but pricey and the wait staff is in outer space. Best to just do pick up if have a hankering for something they offer.

Consistent, Consistent, consistent! Different soups each time I come. Last time was white Bean, today tomato Thai. Both were excellent. Also had the usual Thai peanut salad, always my favorite! The folks here are always accommodating and friendly.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always delicious. The first time we went here, we got a sweet potato quesadilla that was great. Now my go-to dish is the Hot Kale. It just makes you feel good all over eating it. I usually take half of it home. The kids love splitting the hummus appetizer. The interior is nothing all that spectacular - just a dozen tables in cafe-style seating. It can take a little waiting to get a seat during peak times. (We got there just as a table was clearing, but a pair after us had to wait 5-10 minutes for a table to clear.) But the food is just superb.

Food was tasty. I got portobello mush sandwich, wife got the felafel wrap. The place was clean and tidy, nothing too fancy.

This place is awesome. It's great for trying something different and you know your getting something tasty and healthy. The chicken stirfry was amazing!! Tender veggies with tender grilled chicken . I will definitely be back!!

I really liked this place! I am very familiar with the shopping center that the cafe is located and just never went in. I don't know why! I had the fruit & cheese salad with grilled chicken. It was really good! You can tell everything was made fresh and used fresh product. The portion was also big enough I was able to save the rest of the salad for dinner. I will definitely be back and soon!! I can't wait to try other dishes. I think the lavender salad is next...

  • Nicole S.

Really awesome food! We picked the sweet potato quesadilla and the hot kale curry. Both were amazing. The atmosphere is very casual, order at the counter and they bring food to the table. And unfortunately, it's NOT a byob. Even a lack of alcohol can't stop me from coming here again.

  • WhatDafuq K.

Wow. This one was a pleasant surprise. I eat a lot of garbage. This place advertises healthy food. Didn't think the 2 of us would get along. I've gotten Chinese and Pizza from the same parking lot many times, always passing this place by. As I've grown disgusted with the Chinese place (see my Panda Bistro review), and I really couldn't do another Wawa hoagie, I broke down and walked in. At first I was a bit nervous I wouldn't find anything I'd like (I'm not even sure what tofu is), but their menu has something for everybody. Got the jerk chicken salad. Was afraid it was going to be an overpriced, tiny little thing. It was LARGE and full of chicken. I can't wait to go back.

  • Faina S.

What can I say, amazing little place with delicious (healthy) food. Different soup each day and so far all have been yummy. Definitely recommend their Chicken Artichoke, stir fry with chicken, and asparagus salad. Wasn't a big fan of Hot Kale but only because I'm not a big fan of the curry sauce, if you like curry go for it. Will be coming back for more VERY soon!

I have been around the Huntington Valley area for years but never thought this place was anything special, driving by you may think it's some hole in the wall ethnic food joint. HOWEVER after sampling 3 of their salads (lavendar, thai peanut, and raw salad at a catered event) my friend and I had to go to the actual cafe! and try it for ourselves. She ordered the blacked tofu, which was flavorful and amazing! I ordered the Falafel wrap!!! It was so big, which i did not expect from such a tiny restaurant. I had leftovers for the next day :) Overall we loved it and having a great healthy place to eat is so nice! Especially amongst the "healthy" food chains that we are all so use to. We we be back again...and again...and again ;) CAN YOU PLEASE OPEN A SECOND RESTAURANT IN DRESHER!!!!?!?!?!

  • Sandy B.

This place is amazing! It was first on a list given to us when we moved in down the street. I had no idea what to expect and just walked in to see if there would be anything worth trying. Turns out, it's ALL worth trying!! Plus, it is all healthy food, which I was not expecting, but was extremely happy about since that's how I roll. I had the falafel plate which was not at all spicy (I don't mind a little kick, but my kids won't eat spicy) and included whole wheat pita bread, salad, Greek olives, humus and two big chunks of feta. We tried both soups and they were outstanding! I took extra of the roasted pepper soup for my hubby to try later and he too LOVED it!! My daughter who has been very picky of late, had the penne with tomato sauce and gobbled it down hardly breathing between bites. She also ordered the chocolate bomb cookie. OMG, it is the best cookie I have ever tried!!! We will definitely be back often and are so grateful to have found this wonderful little healthy hole in the wall!!

Absolutely love this place, especially the chicken quesadilla and hot kale. And their service. And the iced tea!! Allways cafe is my goto place whenever I'm in the suburbs. There just aren't many places offering this quality of food and level of care.

The ONLY place around for a HEALTHY & DELICIOUS meal. Everything on the menu is wonderfully prepared with locally sourced ingredients. Looooove the earth-friendly vibe.

Incredibly flavourful, fresh, well balanced ingredients. Delish vegan and vegeterian options, friendly staff and an artistic, creative decor. I'll dream of their beat salad.

Had the Raw Salad with Grilled Chicken. Extremely tasty! The sea salt and citrus dressing was lip smacking good, and the greens and avocado tasted fresh as can be. My father had the Thai Peanut Salad and he said it was delicious. My son had the cheese quesadilla (came with sour cream and freshly made salsa) and said it was the best he's ever had. High praise from my 9-year-old! Portion sizes are very generous. Be prepared to take half of your food home. The place itself is no-frills. No wait staff. You place your order at the counter, they give you a number, and you find a seat. The place is small with limited seating, but we lucked out and got a seat right away. There are two outside tables for parties of two or three if the inside tables are occupied.

I would never consider myself vegetarian in ANY way. Tried this place on a whim since I was walking by & it looked like a cute place to dine-in. So glad I did! Don't be afraid of the "v" word! ~~ Every time I eat here, I find something I love more!! My favorites: No salad eater could go wrong with the "Raw Salad" A recent addition: "Sweet Potato Quesadillas" are delicious (& huge!)- these are usually 2 meals for me. LOVE the "Cheese Agnollotti"- great if u bring picky-eater kids, too! & my new Favorite- the "Thai Peanut Salad". Yum! Now that I mentioned it, I'll be there today for lunch! Service always friendly & accommodating, too :)

Love the food and the ability to sit outside. There are lots of tasty, creative, heathy choices but their soups and sandwiches are amazing. When I want to treat myself to something really special but need to move on quickly, this is where to go.

So i'm standing at the counter waiting for my jerk chicken salad when the counter girl gets my chocolate bombs and wraps them and then......she turns around and starts picking her nose!!! I mean she was going to town right there, working with food!! I calmly asked for my money back and I couldn't resist scolding her in front of the other patrons too! She acted like so what!!! The manager was taking an order and said I heard you and I will speak to her. Speak to her???? Fire her!!!!! I'm sick thinking about it! I will miss the food cause I can't go back.

Not the prettiest of locations but if you want a healthy, great meal, that's creative, stop here. It is one of my favorite spots in Lower Moreland, near Abington. I love the veggie stir-fry and, for dessert, whipped bananas ( nothing but bananas) . Trying to cut down on my frozen yogurt, so this is a great substitution.

  • Mika N.

Allways Cafe is a good choice for fresh and tasty food in the area. The location is not much to speak of (strip mall) and the place itself is a bit of a mishmash identity wise (sometimes there is photography on the wall while sometimes it is cute children dresses), and so you never know if it will feel artsy, or Amish. Either way though, the food is what we go there for, and the food is good. We love the Sweet Potato Quesadilla, Chicken Quesadilla and the Thai Peanut salad. Fresh and very yummy.

  • Adam P.

Really enjoyed my lunch here today. Started with the fried tofu app and the butternut squash soup special. The tofu itself was bland, but the peanut sauce it came with was pretty good -- not your typical bold thai peanut sauce though. The texture of the soup was fantastic and it was clear that they made it fresh. I had the chicken quesadilla, which really hit the spot. I'm not sure if they bake it or what, but it had ZERO grease and was actually very crunchy. Stuffed (and I mean stuffed) with black beans, chicken, cheese, onions, peppers, and even some spinach. Came with sour cream and what I believe was homemade salsa, all together a very nice portion for a pretty reasonable $10. Tried a bit of my mom's raw salad with chicken, which was fantastic and HUGE. You're not gonna get a better salad that than for $12 anywhere. Again, very fresh and featured a nice variety of greens including kale. Main knock on the place was that they only had two people working on a Saturday at peak lunch time! Service was painfully slow, but fortunately I wasn't starving. Will definitely be back.

We came here because of the yelp reviews. I've passed by this shopping center dozens of times but never gave it a second glance. From the outside you would never imagine the inside would make you feel like you're in Boulder Colorado. When I heard "healthy food" I admit I squirmed at the suggestion thinking it wouldn't taste very good, but it was absolutely delicious! There are tons of options and I can't wait to try some more! I'm also pretty sure the chocolate bomb cookie has crack in it... SO good!

In a suburb with minimal options for eating healthy, I was happy my friend found this place. I have tried the raw salad - kale, sprouts, avocado and a light dressing which is amazing. This salad is huge and best split between two people. One of the specials during the winter was the kale and chickpea dish, this was truly heaven and hit the spot on a cold day. It's very difficult to find any healthy vegetarian restaurants in the Horsham, Ft. Washington area, but after finding this place, I'm willing to make the drive.

  • Danan R.

The sweet potato quesadilla was very good and the portion quite generous. It's a nice change from your everyday chicken or black bean quesadilla. The place itself is very cute and "hippie-ish" with a plethora of veg options.

It saddens me to write this - I have gone to All Ways for over 10 years but things have been slipping. Mostly the service. I called to ask if there was any vegan soup that day and was told that they had two soups- that all soups sold were vegan. That's new, I thought because I knew that one of the soups we were talking about -used to have cream in it. When I got there I asked the same counter girl if she was sure abut the soups and she said yes, and I ordered them. When the manager came out I asked when they had started making the butternut squash soup vegan? He said it's not. I told him what happened. No apology and he walked away. I told the counter girl I had to change my order because the soup is not vegan, she said why? I said because I'm Vegan. No apology. Just as we started to eat a commotion started over a 3.5 inch flying roach crawling on the wall above the condiments. I have seen small roaches there before and was told that they were from the chinese place next door- but by this time the whole experience was too much and we left, we weren't the only ones who did so. Veganism is a healthy choice that I hope people respect- it is for health and for the love of animals. Also getting very popular (Pres. Clinton) because you feel so good from this kind of diet. The soup having cream is like the kosher plater being made of pork. I just can not eat it. Watching the manger vacuum up the giant roach was a bit much for my sensibilities and although I have been a weekly patron for 10 years - This is not the first time that the counter persons were so unknowledgeable and indifferent. I am not sure when or if I can go back. - but the food is good.

I came here for lunch as a way to detox from my weekend. My wife and I enjoyed the portobello sandwich and falafel platter. The portobello sandwich is a perfect veggie substitute for meat lovers. The grilled mushroom is topped with grilled peppers, onions, mozzarella, tomato, baby spinach & pesto sauce on a toasted roll. The falafel platter comes with 3 large falafels, hummus, pita bread & some cucumber/tomato salad. The falafel was crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside. The employees were pleasant. We will definitely be back to try the other offerings. A good substitute to panera & corner bakery.

The area needs more places like this: healthy, fresh, and casual. The "raw salad" is outstanding. Not all of the options are actually healthy (some use quite a bit of cheese...and there's no way those amazing chocolate bombs are good for you...hehe), but at least they use fresh ingredients. I love that they do takeout as well! It's nice to have a healthy takeout option, instead of just the usual pizza/Chinese/etc. I only wish they stayed open a little later, but beggars can't be choosers.

This place is a cute, artsy, little spot with really good, healthier food. OMG, the sweet potato quesadilla is to die for! I never would have thought to put sweet potato, cheese, pumpkin seeds, scallions and spinach together in a quesadilla, but it is an amazing combination. Their fresh homemade salsa is a great accompaniment too. The Thai peanut salad is very good, with an awesome combination of crunchy textures and a peanut sauce so delicous, you'll want to drink it. Homemade mint iced tea is very tasty and refreshing and the Key Lime Pie is another winner. Portions are huge and for that, prices are very reasonable. Definitely check this place out in spite of the bad reviews.

I have heard such great things about this place, so I was greatly disappointed to find food that was so sad. I tried 3 things, all were horrible. Split pea soup tasted like vegetable soup with split peas, and was overly spiced with coriander. California turkey wrap was made with the most processed and cheap turkey ever, and wrapped in some generic wrap. Falafel Platter was super bland, no taste, and the center of the falafel balls were all raw. I don't know why the think they serve healthy food either. Everything has its fare share of fat and/or sugar, heck the pita for the falafel plater was not even wheat pita.

This little gem is delicious. Ive worked down the street for years and had no idea this place existed, SO happy I discovered it! Thai salad is huge, fresh & extremely tasty. Quiche is creamy and full of veggies & super yummy cheeses. Raw salad was surprisingly FANTASTIC. Added some grilled chicken to the mix and it was grade A healthy/delicious lunch goodness. My new favorite lunch spot. Will definately be here a minimum of once a week!

This place is quirky and unique, and the food is delicious. The menu is large and diverse. If you haven't been here before, it can be hard to know exactly what you're getting, but the staff here are very friendly and will be able to help you. This place has a bit of a "granola" or "hippy" feel to it, both in terms of the food and the style. But I've found that the quality exceeds that which I'd expect from a place with this sort of vibe. I can imagine that not everyone would like the food here. It's not normal--everything I've had here has been a bit different: sometimes the seasonings can be a bit intense, the food a bit coarse, or the combinations of ingredients just a tad unusual. While I embrace this sort of cuisine, I can imagine that people with more mainstream tastes might perceive the food here as being a bit "off". Be warned: this place isn't for everyone. But I love it, and if you're at all like me, you probably will too!

Thai peanut salad with tofu is AMAZING, and enough for 2 meals. We order take out often - at least 3 times a month, and are happy every time. The desserts are especially delectable. Last year, I ordered a large falafel tray and 2 key lime pies for a large event. There were over 100 people at the reception and dozens of food options, the falafel tray was gone in minutes and people were raving. The pies are amazing - once the host of the reception tasted a bite of pie she quickly hid the 2nd pie to save for herself and family for later :) Despite the small size and seating issues, I really love this family-run place and will continue to frequent it.

I have been here many times and the food is always fresh and delicious. They have a very creative menu, I have never been disappointed with a single dish. Cabot is an especially excellent chef. The jerk chicken salad, raw salad, and California turkey wrap are among my favorites. The servings are quite generous and they often will give you whatever special side dish they came up with for the day. Definitely worth it! Average meal is around $10.

  • Danielle H.

I wasn't impressed. My sandwich had fish on it and it wasn't quite the freshest. The potato soup was poorly executed. The staff was carrying on personal conversations and loudly discussing how one waitress just got her first paycheck in about a month, which tells me things aren't quite right with the business. Maybe I'm spoiled from vegetarian/organic establishments in the city, but this just didn't live up to what people told me.

When I first saw this place I was a little skeptical because it doesn't look so nice inside but my cousin swore I'd love the food so I went for it. We shared the hummus and veggie platter and a chicken quesadilla and all of it was VERY good. It was all fresh, homemade from scratch, healthy, and delicious. I will definitely be returning.

Great healthy food doesn't have to be complicated. Allways Cafe seems to have this formula down. The ingredients are not only simple but fresh. Allways is must for vegetarians, vegans, dieters, and so forth. Additionally, I love the place because the pricing is simple. Most dishes are under $10. The only drawback is the 7:30 pm closing time. The hours doesn't seem to cater to the working person. However, I believe that It's simply one of the best healthy food restaurants in the suburbs.

Delicious organic food at affordable prices. The thai peanut salad and the sweet potato quesadilla are particularly good, as are all their soups. The chocolate bombs are delicious but incredibly dense - if you get one, you might want to split it with a friend. There isn't much seating, so there's sometimes a bit of a wait if you come at busy time, but you can usually get a seat within twenty minutes even at the busiest times. Take-out is also available.

I haven't been there in a while but from what I remember, all of their dishes were excellent. I'd mostly ordered takeout but the dining room is nice and the location is decent. The food presentation was nice and the quality is the best. I used to order their Thai peanut salad and Falafel platters. I always recommend this place if you're looking for healthy food or just something different.

I've eaten at the Always Cafe many times and it's been great everytime. It's around $9 an entrée but the food is worth it!! It's a great little local restaurant with lots of character. I recommend the Cheese Agnolotti. Add chicken to it and it's top notch. I also love to get the Jerk Chicken Salad as a wrap.

  • Stephen s.

They seem to have a new chef each time we order. Sometimes the food is quite good, but too often, you don't really get what was ordered. For example, tonight we requested the chicken quesadilla; per the menu, it was supposed to include onions, peppers, and tomatoes. Unfortunately, none were in evidence. Instead it was loaded with black beans. This is not the first time what was received was not as described on the menu. They need to be more consistent. I'm not sure we will return.

The food here ROCKS! My favorite appetizer is the fried tofu with homemade peanut sauce. The falafel is a bit spicy but tolerable if you have enough of your favorite drink to wash it down after each bite. The best part is that it comes with pita and feta cheese. My favorite entree, above all, is the citrus salmon. The place itself isn't huge but when I've been there it hasn't been crowded. They also have a take-out option which is good if you're on the go--my mom keeps their number in her pocket so she can call and order from the road!

Their chocolate bombs are fantastic (giant cookies that are super chocolatey and a little salty--perfect!). My favorite dish is their Thai peanut salad with grilled chicken added on. I always love everything I get there. Great place!

Great lunch place, quality food, and innovative menu for the area. Food is fresh and generally healthy, and the menu is extensive. I think it's a bit pricy for an every day lunch ($9.50 for a salad) but sometimes it's worth paying extra here than getting junk at Wawa. I love the jerk chicken salad, lavender salad, and thai peanut salad. Staff is usually friendly, but it seems like always a different person behind the counter. If I call ahead to pick up (and it's during the lunch hour rush), I don't like that I have to sometimes wait in a long line while other people are ordering for the first time. They should develop some sort of system for pick-ups. Also, they should give a side of bread or roll with the salads. Sometimes they do but it's the tiniest sliver (like an inch) of a baguette size roll, which is kind of ridiculous. Other than that, I'm really happy with this place. There is a cafe area for dining in. They serve lunch and dinner.

We visit All Ways weekly. It's the healthiest restaurant in the area and every menu item is delicious. Falafel is on par with the best places in Israel, seared tuna is great, raw salad is the wife's favorite. Their catering menu is just as fantastic. Highly recommended.
